Default Titan TPMS

I purchased a Titan replacement TPMS sensor for one that failed on my 2001 vert. No matter what I tried the car would not recognize it. I had a tire dealer confirm the sensor was transmitting. Titan had me take all of the air out of the tire several times, re-inflate it, and again try to re-train the sensor. They told me to move the old sensor 100 feet away from the car. At one point the tech suggested that I remove the rear wheel and move it closer to the BCM so it would pick up the signal. I spent two days working on this without results. I did confirm that I was shipped the correct unit. Yesterday I ordered a Schrader OEM replacement. I will end up spending the $25 I saved in buying a cheaper TPMS on having the tire removed and the Schrader installed. Lesson learned.

I received a new Schrader TMPS sensor today. It trained on the car on the first attempt. I did test the Schrader sensor outside of the tire. The car recognized it and reported the tire as being flat due to the sensor being outside of the tire. I emailed Titan about this issue but they did not respond. Once I swap the sensors in the one tire this weekend I will return the Titan TPMS.

This is good information. Thanks for providing your feedback on the various tire pressure sensors that are out there.

Do you have a link for the Shrader or part number, their web page is blocked here at work
