Picked up a set of TI exhaust day, went home and jacked up the rear of the car, but no luck getting them off. I had my rear tires about 12" off the ground and it seemed like I needed another 12 to 24 inches to be able to rotate the exhaust down to get it out of there. Is it possible to get these off in your driveway? Is there some "tricks" or words of advice on this? Thanks!
I had to jack the front up and sit it on jack stands, then put the jack on wood planks in the rear to get the a$$ high enough. Its really unsafe but possible.
Thanks for the comments. That is what I was afraid of, having to get it up quite a bit higher than where I took it. I forgot to mention I also dropped the rear sway. I have a reasonable muffler shop downtown but they were closed by the time I got home with the exhaust and of course their closed today. May try again today if I can round up some safer jack stands.
Talk to a local muffler shop that you trust. Before I had a lift I had the exhaust swapped. It ran me $65.00. I didn't feel safe having the vette up that high on stands. But a lot of guys do it. Be safe!! Rod
Front wheels on 8" tall ramps, back lifted all the way up on the jack with a board between the jack and the cradle, twist and thread the pipes up carefully. Just had to do this my self.
I found this dock behind a grocery store they had closed a few months ago, and it was very tempting to back the car to where the tires were to the edge of the dock, to change out the exhaust. (To the right of the pic there is a straight entrance that you cannot see.) But, I ended up taking it to the local muffler shop and they did it for $50. Something to consider for next time...

Haha great idea! I would do something like that, but only if I had a spotter! That looks like it could go badly in a hurry!
I was just about to do this but I could not find a spotter and was in a hurry to get the exhaust done, so I bailed to the mufler shop. I so wanted to do this but did not want my next post to be in the C5 General or Tech forum in the "not what to do to your C5 today" thread. Could definitely end in a disaster.
