We have had great luck with the IWIS chain and the C5R chain. We may even be able to get our hands on a particular chain known as the "rain" chain or the IRL chain...but they are VERY pricey. Only for the big boys.
It was used in the ls engines used in the IRL circuit. Assembled by Reynolds. There is alot better write up on here by vettenuts and on tech they go more in depth. The best chain bar none.
The z chain is the c5r chain. And as far as the ls2 chain costing $100+ you got hosed. They are $35-40. No one uses the GM chain on their billet timing sets unless you just bought an all stock ls timing set. The IWIS chain is more durable imo than the ls2 chain and is around the same price.

wow I paid $27 for my LS2 chain from Autozone lol, he got ripped
It was an LS2 double roller chain from hinson supercars. That was the going price I had seen on most popular websites......Im sorry I forgot to add this was a double roller set. Not just the chain by itself.
