Default Head Gaskets

Hi Guys,

I am in the process of buying a set of H.O.S stage III heads, and they will be installed sometimes next week. Can you tell me what type of gaskets I should use? How about head bolts? Will the GM head bolts be OK? Or should I use the ARP head studs? Has anyone used the COMETIC gaskets? Are they worth the extra cost? I don't mind paying the extra $$$ if that is the way to go.

As you can see, all my mods are in the sig. And of course, the 150-shot will be going on top of the heads and cam.

Don`t know about the gaskets.
I have FEL PRO and they hold perfect.

I have the ARP heads studs and am happy that I did it!!!!
No heads lift with the big shots NOS.

Hope that helps a bit!!

I am using Victor head gaskets from Napa for about 9 bucks each. I have had the heads off 2 times and they seem to hold up well. I have sprayed 7-8 passes so far and they are holding up. Best trap speed was 102 1/8 127.98 1/4 so I know the car was making at least 300rwhp.

Tuan, the GM gaskets that you can get from Napa are just fine. Unless you plan on removing the heads a lot, etc the stock bolts are just fine (just remember to get brand new ones).

I'd be more concerned about getting a bigger fuel pump for when you spray. You're gonna max out the stock unit very easily now when you spray that much of a shot.

On the spray, I'll be keeping a very close look on the fuel pressure. Thanks for the advice.

Worse case scenario.....Nahh....Let's not talk about that for now.

Tuan, I went with the Z06 head gaskets and ARP head studs for safety. I like you run a 150 shot on top of the H/C package. I blew the stock GM head gasket with the 150 shot.

I'm leaning toward to COMETIC gaskets...I just hate to be doing this more than once. :smash: :smash: :smash:
