Pulled my trans and diff while the engine is out to fix a fluid seep it has. You can see in the pics that the usual diff output seal is leaking on the driver's side, so I plan to fix that. There was ATF on the bottom of the trans though coming from somewhere on top. The thing is so dirty though it is hard to tell where it came from.
Not real familiar with these trans, but it looks to me like the plate on top with the solenoid (shifter cover and reverse lockout????) may be the culprit. Are these sealed with RTV, or is there a gasket?
Mine was leaking from where the two halves of the trans are bolted together...you have to separate b, clean all surfaces and apply a good silicone gasket sealer and bolt back together...works like a charm...I would also check the solenoid gasket

Thanks for the tip... I'll do that and pull all the solenoids to make sure the o-rings are good.
