Did a 400 mile cruise today and I noticed that my temps were quite high! I feel like it wasn't until the return portion that they went so high..
On the way to my destination I think the coolant needle was at 220* or right in the middle, and the oil was 220*. Then on the way back they were both around 240*. Ambient temp was around 80* outside.
It's a 2000 C5 Z51 with P1SC and stock LS1. Does have a Dewitts radiator though. The air dam was taken off by the previous owner that might have a slight influence.. I'll try testing out the thermostat to see if it's opening fully. However the oil temp being high is worrisome as well, though I've seen higher on my previous C5Z on a roadcourse.
The c5 is a bottom feeder and uses the lower air dam to direct air over the radiator. This also causes stuff to get sucked up and block the radiator. Try cleaning out the radiator fins and get the front air dam and see if those things help at all. Good luck.
