Just got back from Track Auto and got one of those circle spark plug gappers.
How do they work????
Im clueless on this...first time using one.
Just got NGK TR55 and trying to see what the gap and if you can tell me how I can find out what the gap is and how to change it.
Actually, not very well. I used one for the first time when I put in my NGK’s and, because of its tapered surface, found that only one side of the electrode can touch the correct setting point. Slide the tapered part in the gap and turn it until a slight resistance is felt. Then look at the reading on the side of the gauge that touching the electrode. As far as adjusting it, my old wire gauge (didn't have a wire size for the C5) has a piece of notched metal attached to it that is used for carefully bending the electrode to get the gap you want. The round ones don’t seem to come with that. I’m not sure how I would do it, without the notched metal thing, but whatever you do, don’t put a screwdriver between the electrodes and pry it. Good luck. – C.
Go with the stock setting, should all be the same. :yesnod: Would also replace the wires, mine were only 4 years old and were causing a few mis-fires. Car runs much better with the new Wires installed with the plugs.
