PCM P0300 H was pulled off my '99 FRC after my car started seriously misfiring this afternoon. Can anyone tell me if the '99s still have an EGR valve and if so where is it located?
I did have TPIS headers put on last Sat. and all was fine until this afternoon. I'm hopings its an EGR value stuck open, I couldn't see any gaps from the headers to the block which would represent an exhust leak but I couldn't see completely under the car when the pipes meet the CATs.
Also, my check engine light initiallt started to flash and then went solid. I'm freaking out since the car was running great till the TPIS install. I will check for header cracks tomorrow when I have good daylight.
Same thing happened to me with my FLP header install. I changed to MSD wires and that helped since the headers get so hot it cooks the stock wires but i still had a misfire. It turned out i cracked a sparkplug when i put in the headers and after a new set of NGKs everything was fine. Check plugs and wires first

change the wires and check the plugs- the fact everything was ok after the install and a week later you have misfire really points at plug wires breaking down from the heat-check plugs just to be sure-i've got msd, work great and this is at least my 25th set of msd wires on various cars and have NEVER had a problem-they may not be the best, but they always work-good enough for me! :)
For all those whom beat on the spark plug wires, see the man at the door for your door prize. Check out the pics below. All wires show signs of being burnt a bit but, good 'ol #7 was toasted...the MSDs held on as best it could I guess.
Head the tch who installed my headers take a look at it this morning to make sure there wasn't anything residual left. 'Tech II' shows everything all clear. Thanks for you comments and suggestions.
