So having electrical issues again with voltage irregularity. Idles around 14.2 and never drops below 14. Got one voltage spike that raised it to 16+. Tested continuity and had 0.0 ohms for everything except the smaller wire with the fusible link that goes to the plug on the alternator. Couldnt even give me a reading. So am I right to assume it needs replacing? What size is that wire? I know I'll need a fusible link 2 gauges smaller.
fwiw the issue started occurring after some hard driving on a 85 degree day. The car has had long tubes for a couple of years so that area tends to get hot. Never had an issue with blowing them before.
