I have a 98 C5 with auto trans. Shifts normal manualy and in auto mode. When in 4th if I need to add a little speed, it will slip for about 1000 to 1200 rpms or 3 seconds and then grab. If I hit it hard, it grabs no problem. Even if I use the cruise control to upspeed, it will slip the same. With cruise on and going up any kind of grade, where it need to keep speed up it slips the same. Normal auto mode from red light and regular throttle, shifts fine. Only happens when I'm already in 4th (overdrive) and needing to increase speed a little. Floor it, while in 4th, and it grabs fine. Driving me crazy trying to figure it out. If it happened in all shifting in every gear I could probably have a good chance to figure it out. Surely, I'm not the only C5 auto this has happened to. Any ideas out there. Thanks.
You say slip but does the RPM's shoot up during that time? It sounds more like a delay of it downshifting or almost a hesitation. Better description will help us help you. Have you used the DIC to pull codes?

AS I stated in my thread, rpm's raise 1000 to 1200 for about 3 seconds before it grabs. To me that is not a hesitation, but a slip. The only codes are for my 02 sensors, which I'm sure are burned out because of the headers. Anyway, I've already purchased them to intall when I do the trans service. It only does this exactly the way I described it in my thread. I don't know how I could give a better description. I am going to change the 3-4 selonoid, maybe all of them and the harness. Can't hurt. I was just hoping that someone else has had this weird occurance. But thanks for helping. If you can think of something else, let me know please.
