Recently purchased a very clean stock 2002 silver/black vert.
Love the car.
The wheels are stock.
I would appreciate everyone's advice on how best to clean the wheels. They are in excellent shape like the rest of the car, but a little dirty. I know one need to be careful of the products one uses. I have Meguiars Hot Rims aluminum wheel cleaner but am afraid to use it.
If the wheels have the clear coat on them, I would just clean them like the paint. And apply wax. My clear coat was dull and flaking when I bought mine, so I stripped and polished them. A bit of work and more maintenance, but they shine more than the clear coat.
Anything you can use on the paint will work. I also have used (on my other cars) a Turtle Was product called F21, which states on the bottle there is no acid in it.
I really like Eagle One A2Z wheel cleaner. It's aggressive enough to lift brake dust and tire shine but safe enough to where it won't harm the finish. Wet the wheel and tire, spray the wheel and tire with the cleaner, use a soft bristle brush to clean the wheel and tire, rinse it off.
