Default Help when theres...No Power....

Well if you looked at the classified section you seen my post about...

Parting out 2001 Corvette...

Well bonehead move the year....

I sold the engine, wiring harness and computer off and in the process disconnected all the electrical.

Never thinking that there wouldnt be an EASY way to...
  • Pop Trunk
  • Pop Convertible Lid
  • Move forward power seat

So after spending some time searching on-line I found this...

The Chevrolet Corvette Intelligent Owner’s Manual

Sadly I could not find either release without pulling the seat forward on the change its under the seat. (doubtful)

Anyone have any idea what I am missing and a manual way of pulling the seat forward so I can remove it and see if the release hidden under it.

Finding it amazing that its easier to pull out the engine than a seat.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Neither one is under the seat

The trunk lid release is on the drivers side rear hatch area. The plastic cover that has the rear speaker in it covers the trunk release. Go to the rear of that cover and feel behind it

The release for the top deck is just below the deck below the carpet in a slit. Iv never owned a C5 Vert so, I'm not sure what side its on.

Great...

Ok found the Top Lid behind the waterfall. Awesome. Thank you.

I found a release for the Fuel Lid behind the speaker. I have dug around to see if the other is there and no luck. Looked to see if it was on the passenger side and still no luck.

Mine has a plastic T handle on it and there is velcro on the back of the T handle to make it stick to the carpeting.
Awesome found it.

Ok well the only thing left to figure out it how to move the seat foward without power?

Anyone?

Well I finally got the seats out. Sigh.

Could not find any way to manually move them forward. I was able to put barely get a ratcheting wrench and got the bolts up finally.

NOW for the next power delima and I believe this is it.

Anyone know how to MANUALLY lower a the power windows?

All you have to do is hook a drill battery or any battery temporarily to the seat plug and move it. I use this method all the time on cars/trucks with no power, since most you have to move the seats to get to the bolts.
