I have a 98 C5 with auto trans. Motor internally is stock. I have put every bolt on you can to raise the rwhp to 340hp. I just bought a pair of 243 heads (complete) from a 2002 Z06 with low 20's mileage. They are being ported and slight milling. But no cam change. Please don't everyone tell me to change it, I don't care to. There will always be someone faster. My question is, can I still use the springs with my stock (small lift) cam? They have checked out fine. I've already bought different valves, as everyone has scared me out of using the sodium filled ones, and this motor will never be over 6,000-6200 rpms. I hope. The care never goes to the track, it is my daily driver. The only reason for the changes I've made is because everything made in the last 5 years would embarass it in stock mode. What do you all think about the springs?

Comp Cams........
If you're insisting on keeping the stock '98 LS1 cam, then I would suggest the Comp 26915 Beehive springs would be a good choice. The kit includes everything and does not break the bank. These springs are a mild upgrade over the factory beehives and are of very good quality and are NOT some sort of high pressure, lobe-killing springs.
I would use this complete kit (part number 26915TI-KIT) which includes 26915 springs, seals, spring seats, valve locks and Ti retainers. Note that this is plug-n-play and does not require any extra machine work or special setup:
If you want, the same kit can be purchased with either steel retainers, or lightweight tool steel retainers for a savings over the Titanium retainers. I would recommend the Ti retainers as they complement the springs perfectly here. Shop around, lots of sources for this kit and prices vary.
I would also recommend you replace your eight lifter trays with new ones. They are cheap, so don't skimp here.
