Default Tire presure sensor question

I did a search, and read up on the TPS, and how they work, but didn't see anything to answer my specific question.

When punch in the tire pressures on the dash, I get a reading on all except the LR which is blank. I need to know what to do to narrow down the problem. Is it a battery in the sensor, or did it lose it's programming, or should I dismount the tire and see if it is missing?

I'm hoping it just needs reset or something simple, so what to check first?

If it were me, first thing I would do is go through the reprogram in the proper order. The left rear is the final position to program, so if it doesn't beep, you need to replace it and reprogram them all again. The previous person who programmed may have not gotten it to program the last wheel and left it. Make sure you have a strong magnet and keep moving it around the stem (and barrel near the stem if necessary) until you get a beep. Go lf, rf, rr, and then lr while programming using the DIC program function in the car. Do all four before it times out.

I have aftermarket (TSW) wheels and the TPMS sensors don't fit the rims. So TPMS jut throws an error. I just picked up a set of mint stock rims and when checked the TPMS sensors by programming them, two don't work. My car is a 1997 so I expect the other two sensors would fails soon as well. I purchased 4 replacement batteries for about $13.00 and followed the video here to install the batteries in the sensors. I am not paying $300.000 for a set of 1997-2000 sensors. I plan on installing the TPMS sensors into the stock rims with new Nitto tires so I will have a second set of tires/rims with the OEM stock look and working TPMS.

What style TSW wheels do you have? I have the Nurburgrings coming and I was able to get a set of rebuilt OEM TPMS units at a good deal.

I have TSW Catalunya wheels. The issue is the stems are not long enough on the 1997-2000 TPMS sensors to use with these TSW rims.
They may fit okay on Nurburgrings.

You need to start a new thread with your information and question. This one was started by Biotex to address his question and issue. That's what the no hijacking rule is about.
Go to the top of the C5 forum page you want to use (general or tech) and click on "new thread", not reply on someone else's. It keeps the answers specific to the questions instead of confusing them.

I was specifically responding to his question on the sensors not working and how the batteries can be replaced.
Are you the thread police? Don't you have something else to do besides interjecting yourself into this yourself? And I know how to start a new thread thanks.

To train the TPMs just watch this video:

You can also pull the codes on the car and see what they tell you. TPMS do result in DTC's being set when they fail or are missing.

Usually when the battery is dead you see XXXX on the DIC display.
Thank you for the videos, I always forget to check to see what videos are available to help out. This gives me a great start. Will post back once I do the reprogram.

if that was an answer you give crappy answers. His question was one of his sensors didn't work and how to fix it. You described your own issues that had nothing to do with his. I'm not the thread police, but I can get one if you don't like taking advice from anyone else. I'm trying to help Biotex who came on here looking for specific answers, I don't know what your purpose is, but you started the conversations toward wheel types and sensor fitment issues. Not his problem.

I honestly dont need your opinion on my post. I informed the OP that there is information here on this forum on how to change the batteries in a TPMS sensor. Are you also the thread editor too? I dont need you advice and I dont give a hoot what you think about the reply I posted. I dont know what YOUR purpose is but to act like some kind of bully and hallway monitor on this thread. You want to threaten me with a moderator? Go ahead. Go tell them that I posted more information that you think was necessary regarding TPMS. Did you contribute anything to Biotex's orioginal question -AT ALL? Besides tryin g to act like an Internet bully?
Here is the information I gave him that is useful "I purchased 4 replacement batteries for about $13.00 and followed the video here to install the batteries in the sensors. I am not paying $300.000 for a set of 1997-2000 sensors"

And Biotex, here is the link to the pinned thread on how to change the batteries in the TPMS sensors if you should want or need to do so. It also has instructions on re-programming.

Apparently you didn't read post #2. And just now you're providing information with a link, relevant or not, I don't know. You seem like such a nice guy, and I know ex-cops don't have anger issues, so I'm not sure what made you so mad. I'm through talking to you though, you can share your thoughts with someone who cares what you think.
