Electric Issues
I have owned my C5 since it was new, and it has never been drive in snow or rain. It has spent it's entire life here in SoCal. Any thoughts?

1. Turn ON the ignition switch, with the engine OFF.
2. Press the RESET button to acknowledge any warning messages present.
3. Press the OPTIONS button on the Driver Information Center (DIC) and hold.
4. While holding the OPTIONS button press the FUEL button 4 times within a 5 second period.
5. System will first enter automatic display mode followed by the manual display mode.

I have a code chart and U1040 and U1056 do not appear on it. I have double checked twice and the codes are correct.
Have not had a single warning light on the instrument cluster from any of this.
Any ideas whats going on?

On the codes, note down if the code has a "C" Current, or an "H" History on them and repost.
You may have a serial bus issues that can be solved without servicing the Ignition switch.
If you have a Class 2 Serial Data Bus issue, the data wires that connect each module short or get corrupt be either damage or being wet, It can cause the IPC to go crazy and display erroneous messages and alerts.
The most common cause of the data buss issues are moisture but, if your carpets and the BCM are DRY,, you could have an electrical issue.
There are THREE COMMON modules that frequently contribute to this issue. They are the: Left Door Control Module (LDCM), Right Door Control Module (RDCM) and the Seat Control Module (SCM)..
To figure out if one of the THREE modules are causing the issue, you can preform an easy procedure!
So report your codes and include the C and H and the forum can help you.

Temecula, is nice as usual. Weather this year has been switching from hot to cool and back to hot. Not sure where Solomon Island is, but if it is in Chesapeake Bay, it is probably very nice. Have friends in Ocean City and they have a nice boat. Could spend a lot of time exploring the bay.
OK, I'll go back through and look for the H or C. Didn't really notice them, but the codes were coming so fast, it was all I could do to write them down.
The carpets are dry. The left door lock has been intermittent for some time, so the LDCM could be the problem, I guess. But the other issues only recently started. Have never had a problem with the right door lock or window control, or seat controls, and have never had any type of warning notice notice in the info center.
Battery is less than a year old, but will test it.

Cleared all of the codes and drove the car for about 15 min. Got the following codes:
B0-RFA U1000H, U1064H
When I started the car, the telescoping steering wheel would not automatically come out, could not turn on the headlights, the daytime lights on the gauges weren't on, and the drivers side power door lock wouldn't work. Turned the car off and restarted, and everything worked except for telescopic steering wheel would not automatically come out. It will work, however if the memory button is pushed. Tried it with my wife's key and remote. Seat moves to correctly location but the steering wheel does not come out, unless the memory button is pushed.
Since these issues are intermittent, I'm thinking this is probably a ground issue, possibly G201 or Splice Pack SP201. Guess I'll get busy cleaning grounds.
Any other thoughts?
Phil
