Hi All
I am looking for a steering wheel position sensor preferably New old stock item for 2000 C5. I have checked ebay and no luck
Any leads or places that might have 1, please let me know
or is this another option swapping in from another year 2001 +
My information shows that 1999 and 2000 are unique. As are 97-98, and 01-04. They are all 3 different.
My info from last year shows the 99-00 to be the hard ones to find. May have to gamble on used but they can be tested using a voltmeter before you install it. If you need info on this here is a link that might help. If you more info on testing let us know.
The earlier ones have a 0-5V analog signal circuit or basically a potentiometer and A & B encoder signals. The 01-04 ones just have the A & B encoder signals. So, the newer one is missing the analog circuit and not suitable to use with the older EBTCM. You'd have to swap all the newer ABS/AH/TC parts into your car to use the newer SWPS. Not impossible, but it would be rather pricy to do. But then paying big $$ for a used SWPS doesn't make much sense when the EBTCM module is not available either.
Thanks all my sensor is ok just out 220degrees from the recent head and cam install
everything was good before the upgrade no issues and immediately after the install and first run on the street after the tune tcs 1283 code appears after 20 mins of driving active handling warming up appears for about 20 mins or so the. The code 1283 followed bunny service active handing
The shop said it needs a sensor I thought it could just be zeroed out
Thoughts?
