I noticed a few days ago what sounds like audio feedback. It is scratch noise coming from what seems to be underneath the dash pad on the driver side. It does it with the radio on or off, even with the car on or off. Aside from the noise being irritating, I'm afraid it's going to drain the battery. I hope this is a simple problem easily remedied. It's an 01 coup. I have a hunch the previous owner had an after market stereo in it (the scree by the ashtray is stripped out). Going to have to start pulling fuses and taking the dash apart pretty soon.

Its most likely the IPC speaker thats making the noise... The thing thats SUPPOSE to sound the bells and warnings. If the audio driver circuit gose SOUTH,, it sounds like a strangled chicken.
Not much that you can do about it other than remove the IPC and clip the speaker wires.
