No history of this with the car. But did just get it back from the shop with a new clutch... So they had to have had the headers and exhaust down and been in proximity to starter, O2, etc.
Car drove home last night. Drove to sears just now. But now won't start.
Engine turns over. All under hood connections are solid. All fluids appropriate.
If starting and I pump the clutch pedal it will cut out as it is supposed to.
No security light warning.
Codes pulled are: P1571, the dreaded 1255, 1277, some assorted codes related to my having bilsteins now instead of the f45, and 2282, 2283 and bcm 0605.
p1255 is the code for the coolant temp sensor. Check to see that it is plugged in. Without it the car doesn't know if the engine is hot or cold and the fueling will be all messed up.
T sensor could be it, actually. The shop screwed up the T sensor and is getting me a new one. Since the car started and ran absolutely fine that way both last night and today, I figured it was not an issue and I would wait until I flushed the coolant this week to swap it out.
If it started before with the T sensor busted and the gauge showing pegged 250+ *F I feel it would be odd of the PCM to skew A/F settings so far that it would not start today. And yet it idled rather low last night at 500 at stop lights and seemed to be seeking a steady idle. The car also has brand new plugs since they broke one of the old ones off. New set of ngk TR5 in there. Even if the PCM is running hog rich I doubt they'd be fouled in just 10 total miles.
Fuel pump kicks on when key hits the Start setting before engaging starter. Gauge says roughly 1/3 full, 264 miles driven and estimates ~85 left on current gas.
Had it towed to the shop where it now sits.
I DID manage to find a socket and a shop towel down in the driver's side fender well, LOL. They can retrieve those while they double check the plugs and wires along the drive tunnel.
Took a look at it today before mechanic showed up. Started ok, just sputtery. T sensor still not checked or replaced. Tried it a few times and it started without issue. Drove it down the loop and....
... Notice that when I stop or go to neutral the idle drops wayyyy low to about 300, then slowly reaches 500 before creeping to 650 or so.
Sat there letting it idle while texting updates to mechanic. Was about to shut it down and leave, when I felt a vibration in the brake pedal... Light one... But not at all anything the car would normally do. Pedal went to floor for a bit. I shut car down. Checked fluid reservoir and seemed ok. Small liquid puddle of unknown under car. Go to start car to move forward and check fluid on the ground, but now we're back to a no start scenario.
This one isn't pointing me in any clear direction yet.
---- I hadn't thought of this since the car is EFI, but the mechanic tried the standard carb approach of "giving it some gas" and it starts up every time I need it to now. Will try fixing the T sensor and see if that affects the idle and/or start condition now. Who'd have thought... give it gas? LOL Could the new plugs affect it at all? Went from factory to NGK TR5.
Sputtering engine w/low idle and occasional hard start

I had similar symptoms w/ a previous C4 Corvette and it turned out to be a bad ignition coil.
