Ok, I lowered the vette over the weekend (not all the way to stops) and I have a front spoiler on from C7 carbon. took the car for a work run today and hit temps 237degree. up till this point hadn't seen 200 in a very long time unless in fl traffic. took spoiler off and temps dropped 20 degrees easily.
Pulling into drive way got a low oil level warning, I replaced the sensor just before coming down in April to FL. checked oil and looked 1/2 qt low tho it seemed good before lowering.
Current set up, 160 stat, tunes and fans come on at 82c (fan 1)(fan 2 86c) and both turn off at 80KMH, dewitt radiator
Normal for me is 190-212 with spoiler on unless at south florida stop lights and then i see 200-215 and cools once moving to above numbers. These temps are higher than normal for my setup but its caused by the front spoiler that is now removed(today)
any insight would be helpful

If you mean the front spoiler like the aci one, it blocks the air from hitting the bottom air dam making the car run a lot hotter. Companies neglect to tell people this happens
Its a C7 one and yes defiantly goes up but the temps spiked at 237 today only after lowering the car on stock bolts and not all the way down to the stops
even after removing it the temps are still 20-25 degrees above normal

Thermostats either fail all the way open of all the way closed. That could be an issue, but is sounds like this is not the case because your water temps would have gone way up! 237 is pretty high though! I would alos have to say it is your splitter blocking the air to the rad/condenser.
If you still want to run the splitter I would suggest you remove the radiator and give it a gentle pressure washing. It really makes a difference. While you are in there check the thermostat, and blow out as much as you can from the condenser.

Ah ok...maybe you have a plastic sack or some debris up there like said above. Something drastically changed it because lowering wouldn't change anything

I have chosen to remain silent on this topic for a couple of years now. Glad to see that someone else see's it the same way I do.
Ok, so i've been looking into it, have some air in the Radiator for some reason, bleed that out but still getting to hot, ordered another stat. Dont want to just take out to test and not have one, just seems weird how quick it went from one to the other extreme.
Front splitters will alway as it deflects based on the angle but it shouldn't be as much as the one I just took off and thats why I have another style coming that I think will be much better.
Havent driven since this until I get the new stat so ill post afterwards.
