Default 3 Questions for the Tech Guys..IDK

Just got a used '99 a/t coupe w/ 220+ miles on the clock..it's on the rack at a shop getting a new trans installed.

1) While on the rack, should I have them check the Differential Oil/grease, and add or replace?

2) after I get it home..what is the best standard procedure for flushing the cooling system (maybe a DIY ? or.. should I get a good shop to do it right?)

3) I know I'll get an oil change right away ASAP (Mobil 1 synthetic , I think..) then top off brake/PS fluids if needed.

I need to keep my costs to a bare minimum as I blew my wad on the downpayment.

Thanks guys it's my first C5 and I'm stoked !!

Absolutely, positively have all of the fluids replaced if you can't verify when they were changed.

JC I absolutely agree with you. Prob is I can't afford to do everything all at once..I have to start in steps and Oil and Water will be first. My brakes and steering seemed OK for the little bit I drove the car..

But, I know I will need to check ALL fluids asap to make sure levels are correct and plan to do it all as soon as possible.

The flush deal is a precaution with the hot summer Vegas Heat where I live. Not sure if I'm qualified to do a real flush in my driveway.

If not I'll be squirlling away some extra coin to have a pro do it right.

Oil change will likely be the most important step #1 ..I'll find a good outfit for that job. I need to get the very best Oil for the Vegas Temps and my High miles engine. I've read Mobil 1 synthetic but I'm not an expert on oil..

I really appreciate your input..Thanks!

Welcome to the club, don't forget to wave. Your on the right track, change the oil first Mobil 1 makes a high mileage I would use it. Check & top off all other fluids for now. Change each on down the road. Good luck w/her. Oh you better post pic's or get flogged for not doing so.
