Default 2900 lbs!

I took my car to the public scale today after some recent weight reduction. Was hoping to be under 3000 lbs. I estimated as I have never weighed it. The scale read right at 2900 lbs! (Without me in it)

It took some serious reductions to get it this far. No interior, one Sparco sprint-V seat. A/C components removed, stereo and speakers, CCW drag pack, 32lb torque converter from stock 52lbs, straight pipe exhaust, no cats or mufflers, coil over suspension, hollow sway bar, everything thats not necessary is out. And all the aftermarket parts are quite a bit lighter than stock, things like engine and trans mounts, etc. The list goes on.

Car is primarily used for drag racing is the reason why. Just thought I'd share. Its a skinny girl now

How about some ti mufflers? They r really light and neighbor approved. You would probably street drive it more often. You could swap in the straight pipes for track days.

Interesting info, given the amount you removed, I would have guessed a lower number. I think I will just keep my air-conditioning and interior

Shaving wight isnt easy. But if you drive a car thats nimble you'll feel the difference. Power to weight ratio is quite a bit more in my favor. Theres a reason Ive been destroying cars with double my power down there.

damn that's light... too much for me though, I have to have ac here in tx... last time I weighed mine it was 3150lbs with me in it and 1/2 tank of gas... that was before c6z brakes and the blower so I'm thinking maybe around 3300lbs now with me in it, I'm a small guy so that helps haha

Nice. My weight reduction is going to be limited to no rear carpet, no sound deadener under the front carpet, no floor mats, Corbeau seats, fixed headlights, carbon fiber hood, carbon fiber fenders, no run flats, headers, no cats, Z06 door glass- not counting the track wheels/tires.

I can snap some pics tomorrow

Anyways, I have been hitting consistent 1.7xx 60' times, and with the most recent reductions, I'm hoping to pull off a 1.6xx this thursday at the strip. It may make a difference in the MPH too.

Nice, I take it yours is a Z. Mine being a coupe and an auto makes it heavier by a bit. I could still stand to replace the glass and do a light weight battery. Just haven't decided on one yet.

Well curb weight of the C5 coupe is around 3250 lbs, so if thats a believable number Ive dropped 350 lbs. But in my experience cars always weigh more than curb weight.
I could be wrong, but I think curb weight is before options. Options like the Bose system with CD changer etc. all increase from curb weight as the base. So I could have dropped well over 400 lbs from the way it came.

I think the question was in reference to your personal body weight.
