Default Oil in intake

Ok,
I know this is a common problem and searched threads for some answers .
I have LS6 with catch can pulled off TB to clean and puddle of oil sitting inside intake ?
Cleaned it out drove a few miles more oil in intake ?
Car runs fine no puffs of oil spark plugs are clean What gives ?
I do have after market Valve covers but all PVC line are hooked up and working .
Should I be worried about this ?

what kind of catch can do you have?... some of them are not designed properly and are really no more than an empty can and can easily allow oil to pass right through and back into your intake

Get a "real" catch can that can hold some volume and has a screen or barrier inside.

Check to make sure your plumbing it right.

Sound like you have the vacuum hooked up right because you are sucking oil.

I use this one, and it solved my problem.

I "Y" connected the two valve covers to the catch can input.

Guess you found your oil source.

You need to "Y" then together or run two catch cans.

I was thinking the PCV, but is it before or after the catch can? The reason I ask is, the blow-by that occurs may still by causing some oil from the catch can to cycle into the intake. Also, is do you have any codes where the throttle position sensor can be off? I am thinking of an issue where a positive pressure is being built and forcing a blow back into the intake...

yes, or use the TB connection as your catch can connection.

Obviously you are only running one side into the catch presently.

Factory valve covers have baffles inside them that help to keep oil away from the hose connections.
Without the baffles, oil has a direct shot at the hose.
Your link to the covers brought up this thread.....

Aftermarket covers often times have no baffles......so you should check for that

Default re Oil in Intake

There is no other line coming from VC but the fresh air line from top right side of TB . I checked my OEM VC's same thing , the drives side cover has NO line coming off of it . I have line from Vally cover running to Catch Can out Catch can to TB thats it there is no other lines to "Y" to Catch Can ? I did read that on 2004 LS6 and up GM has a up dated Valley Cover with internal PVC ?
Attached is my set up .
ps, the after market VC have baffles

Both LS6'S in my Vette and CTS-V have a vent pipe in the valve cover, and not from the valley cover.

You might try reversing your connections to the catch can.

The way you have it, if trapped oil sloshes, it will be sucked from the side.

Also, you are using a "high" vacuum tap.

You might try using the one on the TB.
