Default TPS; Tire Pressure System problem

Tire Pressure Monitor System problem.
I sure hope someone else has had this problem already and was able to solve it as it has me stumped. It’s a ’98 Vert, 2-1/2 years ago all 4 factory original monitors were replaced. 1 new one from GM and the other 3 I rebuilt with new batteries. The system has worked fine since then until I got the car out this spring. The first trip out I got a “service tire monitor system” in the DIC. I went through the “tire training process” and got no response “chirp” from the left rear (the previously bought GM replacement sender) so I bit the bullet and got one from NAPA and installed it. I then went through the tire training process again, and all 4 sensors “chirped” so great we are back in service. Well………. One the test run I get a pressure read on three tires but nothing on the right rear and after a few miles the service system message comes back on. So, I go through the training process again and get a reading or “chirp” from all 4 wheels again but on the road test same results; no reading from the right rear and the alert is back on.
Any ideas? I hate to buy a new sender for the right rear as it is pricy. Has anyone ever experienced a training “chirp” but still had a bad sensor?
All ideas appreciated. Thanks!

For your 98 there about $60 each at Tire Rack. Schrader, original that came on car. Usually not on web site you have to call them. You rebuilt some and replaced others?? It is usually best to just replace all 4. About $250 but they last 10 years / 100K miles. Then you done with it and everything works. Good luck with it!!

I just replaced my wheels/tires on my '97. My TPMS sensors worked OK, but had no idea if they were original or not, so I decided to replace them to avoid issues down the road.

I have read enough posts from others who had issues going aftermarket or rebuilding and I did not want to mess around, so I bought new Schraders. Not cheap for sure, but no issues programming them and so far no issues with them working.

PM me for the vendor URL if you are interested. Don't think I am supposed to post it here as I don't think they are a CF vendor.

Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. I’m pretty sure I have a sender issue. Tonight I went thru the training procedure again only this time I changed the order of the rear tires so the sensors were registered on the opposite side. Left on the right and right on the left. Sure enough I got another no read but it was on the opposite side than last night so it has to be the sender. I will try to order one from Tire Rack tomorrow, thanks for the heads up.
