grinding going into 4th
My son's C5 was always "notchy" into first and second and then started to grind going into 4th and sixth only...I read a lot of testimonials from people on this forum and gave it a shot.
btw I had already been flushing the clutch as suggested and had checked alignment on the shifter as well as cleaning and loctiting all bolts.
After Amsoil:
-Immediately first and second smoothed out!
-the 4th and sixth gear improved but still grinded some
-after about a week the grinding STOPPED altogether and has worked perfect all summer!!!
worth a shot!

100% On the mark!!
I had a 98 MN6 that did that stock at 60K..
Just changing the ATF fluid (the old stuff came out looked like metal flake paint) made a significant improvements in ALL GEARS. Give it a try.
Hell, a fluid change is a W H O L E L O T less expensive than a Trans rebuils and clutch change; even if it doesnt correct the issue.
