Hello all. New to me 03 Z and when I slowly go around a right hand turn I hear a rumble coming form the right rear in the trunk area. Sounds like rocks moving around. Somewhere I read in a thread about it could possibly be the rear gear oil??? Anyone have a similar issue??
Possibly the previous owner used it to haul gravel?
One thing you might check is the wheel to see if it has cracks and making a noise during the bind of the turn. Hard to diagnose a noise without hearing it.
Ok, I hear it inside the car coming from the trunk area. Right turn only and slow speed. Nothing turning left. Sounds like a muffled metallic rattle. Nothing is loose underneath...shock mount, exhaust, torqued wheels. Could this be the diff?

Seriously, though, give me some more. Where do you hear it? When do you hear it? Inside? Outside the car?
I was hoping this might be similar to my case: going around a corner, I hear what sounds like a nut or a bolt rolling inside a channel from one side to the other, can't figure it out. If I turn left, it rolls to the right side; if I turn right, it rolls to the left side. No clue and I can't find anything obvious.

Wheel lock socket that is under the hatch carpet on the driver's
side in an indented channel maybe? Probably not, but it might be
worth checking.
