Today as I started my car I notice my oil pressure gauge went to max. 600 kpa. DIC showed 889kpa.( 129 psi). Oil has 500 miles on it. Also coolant temp went up to ;100c. Which is 212F.
Does anyone know what thermostat is installed in a 99 C5.. Also any hints on the oil pressure issue?
coolant temps are normal and your oil sensor behind the manifold took a dump. try the search function this topic has been beaten to death same with coolant temps. here is some stuff to get you started. your stocker is the 180 or 190
Factory settings are low speed turn on at 226 and turn off at 219. High speed turn on temp at 235 and turn off at 226. If you turn on the AC the fans come on much sooner at about 185.

As a newbie, thanks for your reply. At first I wasn't sure what I was looking for and the thread your referenced posts/threads helped me a great deal. I appreciate your patience.
Replaced the sensor today without removing the intake and without cutting any holes anywhere. It was frustrating but doable (3+ hours)! I hope I never have to do this anytime soon again.

take your intake off next time. literally 30-45 minutes to an hr. max.
to pull it off and put back on. disengage the fuel line. 10 8mm hex bolts. disconnect air bridge. pull intake strait up. change sensor..reinstall intake and air bridge. done.
In the video, he mentions putting teflon tape on the threads. I noticed the threads on the new sender looked like it had some thread sealant already on them. Red in color. I also see a crush washer. I might be wrong, but I think adding teflon tape is a no no, as pieces can get inadvertently caught in the oil galleries.
If you are really worried about a leak, I'd use a high temp pipe dope very sparingly. Kind of like what it looks like was already on the threads. Am I wrong?
