Turn signal issues
I’ve searched the forum and read the many threads on this subject. They usually point to the hazard switch. BUT, the issue in those threads is that the blinkers will sometimes not work at all. I don’t have that issue so I wanted to post this before just trying fixes.
I pulled the DIC codes and get these…
B2578 RF Turn Signal Monitor Circuit (Short to Voltage)
B2583 LF Turn Signal Monitor Circuit (Short to Voltage)
I took apart ground G102. It was petty clean but I cleaned it some more. I looked at Ground 101 but it had another larger screw/nut that was blocking my access so I didn’t get to check it.
The BCM has to deactivate the DRL function to let the turn signal function work. It monitors the turn signal circuit and will deactivate the appropriate DRL relay when it sees a pulsating voltage in the turn signal circuit.
If the turn signal circuit has a constant voltage the BCM it will throw these codes. You have had an issue with both circuits.
I think the flasher in the Hazard switch is not functioning correctly. Nothing else in my mind would account for a constant voltage in both turn signal circuits which are separate from the DRL circuits.
If you are able to perform electrical tests and diagnostics then we can get you FSM info on this. I would personally just replace the Hazard switch or put in a Hyperflash.
Here is my idea for relocating the Hazard switch for easier replacement in the future. I can discuss removal options if you decide to replace the Hazard switch. Just PM me with your phone number.
