Great job bj. It is good to see what can be done. You will always be able to say, "I did that". That is the type of creativity that make the auto hobby so special.

i think your missing the point?
no creativity needed i was trying to show that a coupe frc and convertible are all the same and the parts are just bolt on or bolt off it was extremly easy to do once the courage to mess with a 20,000 car.
If I read your earlier post (#26) correct - you were able to do this in a weekend.
About how many hours do you think you have in to the conversion?
I tip my hat to you, great job!
you actually don't need to buy new convertible quarter panels for the rear if you cut approx 2" where the top frame drops down as that is the only difference in the vert and coupe rear fenders
now you need to install your latch assembly i got a new one with my purchase but it is not necesarry to buy on as your hatchback already has two just drill out the rivets and line up the latch in the middle bolt up you trunk lid on and close it then latch the trunk onto the assembly then mark holes in the tub to mount it to the tub. and now you can reassemble the body panels..
Thank you so much for posting .I have a 2000 coupe but bought a complete rear end from a convertible yrs ago off eBay for cheap $350 no one else bid .I am up in Canada and even sent my brother down into Pennsylvania to pick it up for me .I was going to replace the whole tub but have been too chicken up to this point but after reading your post .I am ready to do this swap ....thanks again
Oh my car is already rebuilt after an accident so not worried about value anymore

Any chance you could post a pic of the area you're talking about? Thanks.
Im trying to visualize the two fenders and the differences.
the only difference is on a coupe where the hatch closes has an extra 2 inches of body before the gutter where the hatch tucks in the gutter area when it closes
so technically you can cut the little extra off with a 3 inch cut off wheel and some good tape then you could mold a little bit of extra gutter for the toneau cover lid
I bought a beautiful '01 Vert 4-5 years ago and paid my mother-in-law more money for it than I'm willing to admit. I'm trying to say "Good job ol' boy" but it keeps coming out "I'm jealous of your guts and skills."

again... no skill involved almost all nut and bolt's no special skills needed that was the point of posting this, to show that is is very easy.
