Have a Blackwing and Borla cat-back (with X-Pipe) on my '99 vert. Considering headers and an LS6 intake manifold, does this sound like a decent deal? And, is it worth it, will I be happy with the results for that much money? Thanks.
"The LS6 intake runs about $550 and Kooks headers are around $1200.00. We can install both for $500.00 labor and dyno tune it for $550.00. I will also make sure you have no issues with passing emissions. So it looks like we can get this done for under $3000.00 including tax."

Talk to josh at horsepower addicts. They are in Delaware not far from you and he does great work very cheap. He even helped me find my ls6 intake and some take offs from his other customers. He got me ls6 heads cheap too. Plus his dyno is I think around 250. He's a member on here.
I traveled over hour from PA 3 items already to go back to him.
I installed Kooks headers and an LS6 manifold on my wife's 99 A4 coupe. Sent my PCM to ECS for mail order tune for $149. The header install was a PITA, but the manifold swap was simple. I used to not care for driving her car as it seemed to be somewhat of a dog. Now I love driving it! I can't comment on price as I do my own work but, you will love the results.
If your car doesn't already have a dyno tune, a tune alone will make a huge difference. The LS6 manifold is worth about 5 rwhp on a near stock application and is a half measure when compared to a FAST 92 with LS3 or LS7 throttle body. I'd do cam-headers-tune now then come back later for a FAST 92 (or larger) with the 90 mm throttle body. The extra dollars for the cam will double your gains. Estimate 25-30 rwhp with the mods you mentioned, estimate 50-60 rwhp with moderate cam- headers-tune.
1. Can not IMAGINE paying $1200 for headers. There are much better deals.
2. Z06 intakes can be had in the $300-$325 range. I have both bought and sold them for that price.
3.Kooks headers are a PITA to install (I installed them on my car) but I just purchased a set of headers from a forum member here, and not only was the price good, they were pretty easy to install.
4. Make sure whoever tunes your car, will do "updates" for a minimal fee ($100?) Then you can update the tune when you make more changes.
