Default key fob programming help

I am trying to program a new GM key fob for my 1997. When I get to the options stage of the process , a code " QC 134131" pops up on the DIC. It will not clear and I can't proceed with the setup. Has anyone experienced this? Any help will be appreciated, thank.s

I’ve heard of early C5s throwing these weird DTCs but I can’t tell you why it does it as I have never seen or experienced it myself.

However, try this. Make sure that your battery is FULLY CHARGED and in good condition.

Read your DTCs in the DIC.

If you have ANY DTCs, write them down and then CLEAR ALL OF THEM. See if any come back after you key on and then start the engine.

Give the FOB training another try.

Once you have the engine running, see if you can enter the FOB training routine.

You could have a defective ignition switch which is supplying a low out of spec 12 VDC ignition switch feed to the different modules.

Most of the modules in the car are supplied by TWO different battery supply voltages.

12VDC Hot at all times and 12VDC hot when the Ignition Switch is ON or in Start

What voltage do you see on the IPC volt meter with the Key ON engine OFF and engine running? You can also read it in the DIC Gages screen.
