Default 2000 shuts off in gear

I have a 2000 A4 bone stock coupe with about 90k miles. The car is garage kept and I drive maybe twice a month. Started car with no issues, but once I placed into reverse car shuts off. Started car again and let idel for about 5 mins then placed into revers. Car once again shuts off. A few days later I purchased a new battery and had two keys made. Still having the same issue. Not getting any codes, but security message came across. Can anyone help with this. Thanks

Get your self an LMC5 and install it and your problems will be gone.

Safest solution going forward would be an LMC5...

Thanks. Any ideas where I can purchase this form.

Actually, using the quotes is the better choice as it is a Boolean expression that forces the search engine to look for that specific combination of words.

I have one in my 2000 coupe, but I have one of the oddball cars that needed the LMC5R instead of the regular LMC5. Either way it will take care of the 2 mph issue; just take your time doing the install.

Don't like to thread jack but.. I've heard of the LMC5 swap many times on here. I'm debating just buying one for my 99 to avoid future problems.. Not having any problems currently though.. Should I do this?

Also my car is tuned. Would this effect anything that way?

And one last thing. Is it a direct replacement "plug and play" swap? If so where is this component in the vehicle? I it's easy I'll just do it.

Sorry, don't know anything at all about it or what it actually is.
