Default Hawk Brake Pads

I just installed some Hawk HPS brake pads on my 2000 coupe based on the recommendations I have heard all over the net saying they were so much better than the OE pads. My first impressions of the pads is that they don't stop as well as the OE pads in normal driving. However, when I slam on them my experience is equal to the OE pads. Anybody with similar or different experiences?

jI agree. I had a set of the Hawk street pads. The base stopping power was somewhat less than stock, but when hot they were better. I ended up replacing mine at about 4K miles. They were the worst dusting pads that I have ever seen :mad also very noisy even after following break in procedure exactly. Went with the GM ceramic and am totally pleased.
