when I rev my vette to 3k+ rpms it does and sounds great then when I let off the gas it fails to maintain an idle and dies. I havent been driving it much as it needs tires. Am I looking at plugs injectors and wires or am I looking at a bigger problem?
Inspect the engine intake system for any VACUUM LEAKS. Check every vacuum fitting and vacuum line attached to the manifold! Especially ALL of the PCV fittings and vacuum lines and rubber fittings.
Clean the Throttle Body and MAF. When you install the air ducting, make sure that you do NOT have any leaks that allow any un-metered air into the engine. Check the throttle blade for free operation and make sure that it is clean. NOTE! It will NOT snap shut when you release it from the full open position!
Check the intake manifold bolt tightness: 89 INCH/POUNDS
When was the last time you serviced the plugs and wires? IF you need new wires, Recommend New GM RED PERFORMANCE WIRES and AC Delco Iridium plugs.
When the car is warm and I start it up it revs up like normal and then dies but if I give it a little gas it idles back to normal. The sitting idle isn't terrible it bounces a little 5-700 rmp.
a little better.. didnt die on me so im guess the rest of the idling is a tune up. I didnt see any visual lines with holes or leaks in them but I could be missing them.
could it be my egr valve?

could of been thats what my budy called it that. Its the plug that sits on the driver side on the throttle body. I unplugged it and the idle got rougher but it didnt die when I revved it... usually when I revved it it would die but it didnt without this plugged in... not sure what that means though any ideas?

yeas I cleaned the MAF and while it was opend I cleaned off the throttle body blade and around it. I had no one with me at the time to hit the peddle to see how much it moved but I used my finger to push the blade and it seemed fine. should I be taking that piece off and cleaning behind the blade and into the intake manifold? The blade was a little dirty but not substantially dirty by any means
I think I have the same problem, and I believe it's this broken exhaust hose on the passenger side of the throttle body.
Google says it's part of the A.I.R. Injection System (of course Google sucks at searching for a string like "A.I.R.", thinking I can't possibly have meant to put those periods in there). Apparently the system's for idling or something (https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...emissions.html) - anyway, it's broke and I wanna replace it. :-)
My friend,,,, That is a broken PCV rubber fitting and YES,, it will cause a NASTY idle issue, poor economy.. Your PCV system is also not working correctly.
If it were me,,,,,,, I would inspect every inch of that system. It has other rubber parts that can do the same thing. The plastic tubing can also split and leak.

Ahh thanks again Bill! I had pulled the intake manifold a couple times recently to replace vacuum line from the source, replace oil pressure sending unit, something else. I'll go over the system.
Here's the pics of the damaged/broken PCV valve connecting tubes. What part umbers are these? I figure I'll have to rig something to get me through the week til I can get 'em...
