Default Diagnostic Codes Galore....Looking For Help

Good afternoon guys and gals!

I was wondering if any of you could help me out with something.

My car is a 2004 coupe with 43k miles. It's an M6 Z51 car. Only modification is the exhaust.

Today I took my Vette out for a quick run and almost immediately I got the messages "Service Active Handling, Service ABS, and Service Traction Control". My ABS light and traction light were both lit up. I pulled over, turned the car off, turned it back on, and everything was ok.

Thanks to information I found on this forum (), I was able to check for diagnostic codes on my car. Sad to say, I found 25!

They all have an "H" to the side so they are all in the history, but I've got an eerie feeling that my ECBM is about to take a dump.

Here are the codes that I have pulled:

28 - TCS C1242H - BPMV Pump Motor Ground Circuit Open
58 - SDM U1016H -
58 - SDM U1096H
60 - IPC U1064H - Loss of Communication With BCM
60 - IPC U1040H - Loss of Communication with TCS
60 - IPC U1016H - Loss of Communication with PCM
60 - IPC U1176H - Loss of Communication with RFA
60 - IPC U1088H - Loss of Communication with SDM
80 - Radio U1064H -
80 - Radio U1096H
99 - HVAC B0361H - Left Actuator Feedback Short to Ground
AO - LDCM B2282H - 12V Power Feed #1 Fault Left Door
AO - LDCM B2286H - +5V Reference Fault Left Door
AO - LDCM B2284H - 12V Power Feed #2 Fault Left Door
AO - LDCM U1255H - Random loss of Communication
AO - LDCM U1064H - Normal
Ao - LDCM U1016H - Normal
AO - LDCM U1096H - Normal
A1 - RDCM B2283H - 12V Power Feed #1 Fault Right Door
A1 - RDCM B2287H - +5V Referance Fault Right Door
A1 - RDCM B2285H - 12V Power Feed #2 Fault Right Door
A1 - RDCM U1255H - Loss of Communication
A1 - RDCM U1064H - Normal
A1 - RDCM U1016H - Normal
A1 - RDCM U1096H - Normal

I tried to look up the explanation for each code but there were some that I couldn't find.

Do you guys/gals think I'm looking at a situation that will be recurring, or was this a one time fluke electrical gremlin?

All comments, advice, and help appreciated. Thanks!

Do one or both windows not go up/down and or door locks not work when this happens?

Likely cause is the contacts in the blue connector in the accordion tube between the door and A Pillar or the drivers seat controller module...
Thank you. I will check into that this afternoon after work.

The windows, locks, and mirrors all work just fine. Now, this is the first time this has happened to me so I kind of wrote it off as an electrical glitch....until I started researching the issue and found many similar problems on other C5's.

Now I'm probably overthinking it.

Thank you for the reply.

I actually just had one in the shop recently with the same type of concern. What I found was the pass through connectors from the body to the drivers door were heavily corroded causing communication errors.

If it happens again, check the windows and locks. The accordian tubes from the doors to the A pillar have issues setting off a ton of codes and generally 1 or both windows/locks stop working while it's insane.

I tend to agree with 8VETTE7 regarding the connectors in the accordian tubes. FYI-The connectors are in the chassis not the door so pull the accordian on the end closest to the chassis and carefully pull the wires from the chassis.

Did you recently disconnect the battery? Looks like some of the codes could be due to that.

If this happens again, pull over but don't shut the car off. Pull the codes with the engine running to determine which ones are current. As soon as you shut down the car, the codes will revert to History.

Interesting....I will be checking into this to see if that's my problem as well. Thank you!

I wouldn't have thought to check while the issue was happening, but that'd be a crazy problem to have. Haha. If it crops up again in the future, I will definitely test the locks and windows and report back.

The battery hasn't been disconnected any time recently that I am aware of.

I will say I've noticed that some times my driver's seat memory position doesn't retain and I have to adjust it back to the correct spot. No big deal, but maybe that has something to do with some of the errors related to the door module. I dunno.

Thanks for all the replies guys! I'll post up an update either tonight or tomorrow depending on when I can get the time to dig into it and figure it out.

Make sure you take a close look at the female terminals in the body to door harness connectors too. The terminals have a habit of opening up a little so that the pin grip isn't what it needs to be which causes a poor connection.

This was indeed the case. They weren't opened up very much, but it wasn't making the best contact and didn't have the best grip either.

I tightened everything up, checked, rechecked, and everything since has been great!

If the problem does come back, I will be sure to update this thread rather than start up a new one.

Thanks for all the help! Always nice to learn at least one thing a day.
