consider thread closed bought new pump
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
just got back from the tuners and they said i wasn't getting enough fuel that at 4500 rpm i was going lean and not keeping up fuel pressure.
question is what pump to get and where to get it??
i got a 2001 corvette longtube headers no cat's x-pipe borla exhaust
upgraded cam
60# injectors
vortech v-2 charger
nitrous halo
h.p. was 400 at 4500 where it couldn't keep up anymore and that was without nitrous anyone able to point me in a cheapish direction without upping the voltage to the pump... as i have read bad things from that with heat longevity reliability etc..
I ran into the same problem and had to install one of Lingenfelter's pumps. Problem solved.
already stated NO voltage boosters.... hence no boost-a-pump!!!!!! all that does is increase the voltage to the fuel pump..... then creates problems down the road 50/50 chance and i don't wanna take a gamble..
I have the LPE pump and racetronix harness on the way for my nitrous setup. It supports over 600hp and supposedly more with the harness. It's a direct swap, in-tank pump kit.
Currently at 430whp N/A on stock pump. Looking at a 150-200 shot of nitrous. Pump should support that size shot.

I have the same (Walbro) pump as you as well as the same Racetronix hot-wire harness with no worries. He's got a huffer however, and MAY be getting close to borderline on pump capacity.

I was wondering about that.. Are you sure that the LPE pump is a walbro 255? I mean, I hope it is, but on the website it calls it a 220 I think. And stock is somewhere around 190 if I remember right. I was wanting the larger 255, but racetronix was ticking me off with their website. If you can confirm they are the same, that would make me feel better about what I bought.

The LPE pump I installed doesn't use boosters. Check the web page. This was put in my track car and there hasn't been a problem since.
It's LPE #L710650197.

The GRJ420 being sold by LPE was for several years being exclusively built by Walbro for LPE, and LPE only. Recently, (I don't recall the year, but sometime in the last few), due to slower than desired sales numbers, that exclusive contract ended and Walbro started selling it to other distributors, with Racetronix being the most well known. Additionally, LPE and Racetronix have engaged in some mutual marketing for certain products also. Both are very reputable companies. I'm using this pump (along with the aforementioned alternator wire harness) for a 600+ hp NA motor. With no issues.
I agree with you on the quality of the Racetronix website, it needs improving somewhat.
As Racetronix does not publish a phone number, you might try to e-mail them for further specific information. One thing I have learned about Racetronix over the last few years is that they are very professional and also honest. They do not play marketing numbers-games with any of their products.

Are you going to fabricate your own mounting? The in-tank pumps in C5 Corvettes from 1997 to early 2003, are of a unique design configuration that allows them to be mounted inside the fuel bucket, which serves to cool the pump by keeping it immersed in fuel at all times. That's why the GRJ420 was created by Walbro in the first place. Not just any pump will work.
that only a 255lph pump it won't keep up with my fuel needs!@#$% guess i'll have to learn a new trick made a aftermarket pump work in my 3000gt hopefully i can make this one work

I replaced the fuel filter with an early year C5 style without the fuel regulator, added the LPE in tank pump aded a regulator on the stock rail and added return line. I hold 60# of fuel pressure well north of 600RWHP with a A&A V-2 kit, Long tubes and Meth Injection.
