Interesting question, and I do not know the answer, but I have to wonder why you would like to do this?
It's not actually something I want to do. I have two spare 17" front wheels with tires and wondered if they would work on the back in the case of a flat tire. Just to get home.
Thanks
So as I understand it you have a flat tire somewhere away from home and you would mount 1 or two of these extra 17" wheel/tires so that you could drive home.
Are you planning on carrying these extra wheels and tires in the back of the car all the time waiting for that flat tire to occur????
I agree that you would have some driveability issues (probably NOT any codes) from trying to drive with that type of wheel/tire combination............
I keep them at home and if I were to have a flat around town I would just have one of my kids bring them to me so I could get back home.
