For the past three, yes three years I've been trying to stop a leak on the 4l60e in my 1997.
I've installed a new gasket, pan and bolts. The top and sides of the tranny show no signs of a leak, ie, no fluid. It seems like the fluid is dripping from the front of the tranny on the drivers side. I looked in the hole on the tc cover and it looks dry. I even put my finger and a q-tip and it comes out dry. It only leaks when the car is parked. I think it's leaking when the fluid drains from the convertor back into the pan.
Has anyone had the same issue? Does anyone have any ideas? Please, please, I going nuts!!!!
Had to replace one on a 2000 there is a tool to remove and reinstall the new seal
Cutlassmaster, Smokin1, thanks for the reply. Next week I'll borrow my friends lift and check that seal out. Hopefully that's the problem. I'll post pics.
