Default Tuner and gears.

I have a 98 with auto. It has 2:73 gears and they are great if you want to go 150 mph and enjoy 19 mpg city and 24 hwy and I don't baby it. I didn't buy a Vette for economy. I also don't want the kid in a Civic to whoop my @&$ as a light. What is a good combo that works well with the auto? 3:42 seems common?
What tuner and CAI is best?

If you are going to change gears, go 390.

You will need a different rearend because your housing wont fit the taller gear set. While you have the drive train apart,, I strongly recommend that you pull the torque tube and at least inspect the rubber couplers. Everyone of the older A4 torque tubes that I have inspected baddly needed new couplers. Just go for the OEM GM couplers. They work just fine!

WHAT TUNER??? Where do you live and how far will you drive?

Here are a couple of differential post that you can use to get an idea on whats inside and some stuff that you can do to beef the C5 differential up to withstand more severe use.

- C5, ragtopws6 , Upgrading your C5 rear with C6 Z06 guts, : http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...-z06-guts.html

Bill I live in SC and this car is a cruiser. I have taken a coupe of day trips in it. I have had the car since April 4th and have put about 3000 miles on it. Took it to Atlanra drag way and was disappointed. My wife's 08 Mustang rips it to 80, then it's a race to 100. I got it to 140 playing with a Caddy CTSV. That's nuts. Yes it has more and yes it was as smooth as glass. Amazingly! 😯
