Bosch starter installation
My new bosch starter instructions recomend measuring gear tooth ingagement depth and possibly adding shims to get their recomended measurement. I'm wondering if anyone has been doing this with the bosch unit. I remember seeing a shimmed starter once and a while back in the seventies. I'd rather not bother doing it as my car is not lifted very high so there isn't much room to work.

I put a bosch SR8581N in my car a few months ago right out of the box and haven't had any issues
Same here! Fit perfectly.
