Default Vararam Test

Well, I bought the Vararam and had it installed on my car yesterday. It took three hours for the tech to install the unit and there was only one problem. The instructions called for three washers on the bolts going into the front bumber and you need four. The nut pushed into the bumper making a protruding dimple on the bumber.

We dynoed before and after and the net gain was 1.95 rwhp over the MTI True Ram Air. However, we lost 3 RWTQ. From the posts I have seen here, it looks like the real gain is only going to come, at the big end of the track. To me that is the real test anyway.

I think that it is positive that it showed any gain at all over the MTI intake, given that I picked up over 10 when I went from a stock air box to the MTI unit.

What I am happy about is that I don't have as much concern about hydrolock as I did before. The pickups are above the brake intakes and will give me a little more comfort in rainy weather.

So, now we just have to see how it does at the track. If I get a couple of MPH, I will be happy.

Regards
Randy Goss
