Default 2002 C5 Blackwing CAI Fitment

Hello...have a chance to purchase a used c5 Blackwing at a good price.

I have been reading online that there are 2 different models for the C5.

Blackwing 21110L Fits Only 01-04 C5 (LS1 engine)

Blackwing 21110E Fits Only 97-00 C5 (LS1 engine)

Seller does not know what car this unit came off of and he says there is not a model # on the Blackwing anywhere...only a couple of Patent numbers.

What is the difference between the years and the 2 different models?

Also...i see some vendors just advertising the Blackwing to fit 97-04? is this another different model? Lol

Appreciate your input as usual

Thanks

Thanks for that info. I think i may need some sort of rubber coupler /bellows for the MAF in order to use the Blackwing on my 02...gotta look into this more

I believe the 2001 to 2004 has the visual indicator and an extra "hole" to the left of it. I have one on my 2004, but I forgot what it goes to.

i just cleaned and re-oiled mine today (on my 2004 Coupe). If I took pictures of it... could you compare it some pics of the one for sale?

Like someone said earlier, there was a hole for a vacuum line (about 1" diameter) that simply inserts into the hole. And there was another cylindrical-shaped piece (that kinda looks like a "plug" of some sort just to the right of that (both on the driver's side).

I didn't measure the diameter of the MAF.
Here is a photo of mine (installed)......

And a close-up photo of the vacuum tube and the other widget.....

That would be fantastic...

i think from reading more.. my concern would be what coupler/bellow i need to join the Blackwing to the Maf for my 2002....probably this one??

The Blackwing i am looking at does have the 2 holes to the right...one for the air hose and the other houses an indicator that is already on the Blackwing

you can find silicone couplers at most any turbo supply shop

SLP also sells the bellows separate, they are often on ebay
