Default LS6 Valve spring failure preventative?

Folks,

so just read that the LS6 was known to be made with possibly faulty valve springs which could end up being a big repair if they fail. Any thoughts on whether I should put in upgraded ones? What is a trusted brand? I do run on the track 2-3x per year.

My car is a 2004 Z06

Thanks!

Seems like the 2004 were not affected by the defective valve springs. Mostly 2002 and early 2003.
You might want to wait until you do a cam switch or other motor work to replace the valve springs at the same time.
The defective springs were yellow. You can open your oil cap and look inside. You should be able to see some springs. If they are yellow then you might want to replace them.
I just replaced mine on my 2002 Z. I used the blue GM springs which have not had any problems.
There is a sticky regarding this problem:

spend the 65 on new springs, don't wait, don't think, buy and install. they have no rhyme or reason why or when they break. sometimes they do no damage when they break, sometimes they crack cylinder liners

Lucky me, I rebuilt my original LS1 heads and used the yellow LS6 springs. Will change them out prior to use though if they ever go back on the car.
