Default MGW shifter install

I plan to purchase and install the MGW shifter in my '99 C5 FRC. I am not happy with the stock shifter. As I will have everything apart should I take the additional time and expense to purchase and install the lower shifter box? I would also appreciate any thoughts regarding what additional I should do or what alternatives I should consider. Thank you in advance.

The lower box comes "standard" now with the MGW shifter. I absolutely love mine...the shifter, along with more aggressive seats was probably the best 2 mods I've done so far on my C5Z.

Its relatively straight forward. I highly recommend that you find and purchase the rubber isolators bushings under the two fasteners that secure the box to the TT and replace them with poly bushings. I believe ZIP Performance sells poly replacements.

Insert a drill bit in the nose of the box and have the trans in N to properly align the box before you secure the two big bolts on the TT.

Do not try to make adjustments at the connection on the shift rod.

Thats about it.

Is there a particular forum vendor that I should contact regarding purchasing the shifter and components?

Does anyone know where to find the bushings without the $8.95 "shipping" cost?

if you opt for my shifter/box you will not need ANYTHING else. our rubber blend isolators are much better than oem and will not need upgraded.

our kit also comes with an alignment tool to center the shifter and box properly.

I have the new version of the MGW shifter.

VERY nice, MAJOR improvement. With that said, Mine is still not slick.

Mine will get the Anti-Venom mod and upgraded lube in the spring.

This is the only shifter I have used in a Vette. I have used just about every shifter available in a Mustang..You name it, I've either owned it or drove one with it in it.
In a Mustang, the MGW was night and day better than anything else..
