Have 7000 miles on my 2002 auto. The shift points and firmness stink. Anyway to get it to hold second longer without winding it out to 6000 or doing it manually? Then, when you jump on it a little from top gear, you'll jump all the way to second and pull about 5000 rpms, give or take. How do you improve that, reprogramming? And that voids the warranty, right? So, I'm stuck with it until warranty is over? Other auto users do you agree with my assessment? Next time, might be time for gears.
Too bad Hypertech doesn't offer a programmer for the 2002 Vette. You could reprogram it yourself and then easily return it to stock if you have to take it to a dealer for any kind of service. I think Hypertech is the only one that allows you to do this. Even Superchips' tuner must be factory adjusted and I don't know if it allows the owner to return to a stock program without sending the tuner back in to be reset.

I'm waiting for it to be released myself. Only then can I compare the Hypertech and LS1Edit side-by-side to see which one can obtain my goals with the least effort.
There's no doubt in my mind that LS1 Edit or Ed Wright could custom program your car to out perform the Hypertech somewhat, however, you can't return those to stock by yourself either. That's the problem. Another advantage is that you can sell the Hypertech to another same-year model owner after returning your car to stock when you trade or sell it. The Hypertech is a nice unit...effective, reasonably priced and very easy to use.

That's incorrect! :smash: You can return your LS1-edit reprogram back to stock, just copy your stock program on a floppy before you do anything and then just edit away!!!
I've got 6 or 7 different programs saved on floppy by now, so if I screw something up and don't remember what I did, just put the old one back in. :jester
