AC system leakage
My cold AC lasted about 10 days total before it was back to no AC at all. I got the car back to him yesterday and he used his light and a long arm mirror to check the engine compartment very thoroughly…and saw no evidence of any green dye. He said next step would be getting it on a lift to look underneath. I was unable to leave it so that will have to wait to another time.
I have confidence in this mechanic…his reputation is exceptional and auto AC one of his specialties. So I will let him chase the problem to satisfactory resolution
But I wanted to let any of this groups AC authorities at least comment on what might be allowing the cold charge to go away so quickly and yet not show any evidence of a leak…that doesn’t make sense to me…but then again with AC I have almost no clue.
What say you?
Thanks
Bob

If there isnt ANY dye in the engine compartment, its inside the air box.
That means the Air Box has to come out and the evaportaor needs to be replaced. see if there is ANY green dye in the AC Condensate drain. on the passengers side fire wall area or inside the drain tube..
PS<< The evap replacement is labor intensive.
