Having the same problem(01 Base) first thing to check is the connection
at the Low Oil Sensor. According to BC this is most likely the problem.
The female ends on the plug need to be re-bent to tighten up the male to female connection. Also check the ground at the buss bar on the fire-wall
(passenger side) . Bill says to use the push / pull test on the connectors.
My problem is "the light only comes on when I sit on level ground????
If I park nose up hill or with the car -passenger side lower it goes out, so I'm just learning to live with it...(8 qts of oil) no help.

Well not this time I can see were this can happen.. Fixed: replaced valve covers with Holly ones in doing so broke a ground and lots of rewireing and checking to find the ground that was brocken and after a day of OMG what pain to deal with fixed that then test drive NO MORE LOW OIL DEAL ..I guess was lose or something I checked all the wires and and conctors looking for the bad ground that fixed it somehow ..I have wraped heat stuff around the wires by the headers to try to help with the heat just maybe that will help ,lot's heat and nothing on the wires to stop it from cooking them all wraped now..Thanks for all the input on this ..
