PCM codes galore....

PCM codes galore....
A friend's '98 (very low mileage....less than 10K) has been throwing PCM codes, and U1016 & u1096 as well; the car goes into a reduced power mode or acts like like the fuel enable is momentarily off. Most of the codes pulled indicate loss of communication with the PCM, and/or faulty wiring or grounds, and one code regarding MAF processing.
I'm thinking this car may have had a leaking battery (or faulty battery) that may have leaked onto the PCM. Has anyone been thru this? ANd what was the result?. He's going to the dealer armed with the list of codes we pulled, but I always appreciate the CF opinions.
