Hey guys, I have a bolt-on, cam only '03 Z with TSP longtubes, x pipe, and SLP loudmouth axleback. Dyno'd 430rwhp. After the cam it is now ungodly loud which I knew it was going to be but I'm looking for a way to tame it down some without sacrificing any rwhp. I love the SLP tip setup but has anyone tried putting magnaflow 4" round mufflers right after the headers and before the x pipe? I'm wondering how this will sound, and if it will reduce the sound enough to be worth it. Any advice would be appreciated!
I run the MF round mufflers. I was running straight pipes and
it was too loud and some autocross sanctioning bodies require
mufflers, so..I have the mufflers after the x-pipe. It's still loud
but not so much. I have a modified engine similar to yours.
Good luck.
Yea I had a 2002 Z and I did the same mods but put different exhaust on it and I had 6hp less then with my 2003 Z with the titanium! And the ti sounds a lot better.
