Help me with my shifting!
Ok so I just bought my 2001 z06 a few month ago with 136,000 , it now has almost 140,000. It seems like the previous owner didn't do proper maintenance because the brake fluid was dark black as with the clutch fluid. Every once in a while the clutch felt like it lost some pressure and the first half of travel didn't actually engage the clutch, and this would happen usually after spinning in first but not always. Anyway it drove and shifted fine until the day before yesterday as I was making a right hand turn in second, I went to put it into first and it was stuck in second. I kept slowing down until the car almost stalled and said f*ck it and forced it out of second. Right after it happened all the gears were much harder to get into and fourth gear would grind if you didn't put it in very slowly. Now all the gears are back to normal exept fourth. Clutch and shifting feel the same but if you don't put it in fourth very slowly it will grind 90% of the time. Also when I drove it cold this morning I wasn't shifting hard and it didn't grind. I'm left with this fourth gear grind that just came out of nowhere please help!!

The first things you should try are checking the shifter adjustment and flushing the clutch fluid.

I just had the same thing happen a month ago. 3000.00 dollars later and all new synchro's it shifts like butter again. The only bad synchro was 3rd to 4th but since it was open might as well do everything.
