Default Roll bar install need help with waterfall

Installed Wolfe craft racing 4 point rollbar in my 00 vert. Need help figuring out how to re-install the waterfall. See picture from Wolfe craft website. I called them and no one there seems to remember how they did it.
Any help would be appreciated.

What is the issue?

Do you need instructions on how to put on the waterfall? It looks like they cut the waterfall to make room for that cross bar.

My guess is they used a tubing notcher along with some duct tape across the painted surface to protect it and keep it from chipping while cutting.

You might want to purchase another waterfall to practice on......

You do have to cut the water fall, that's why my roll bar has been sitting in the garage for 2 years now- I don't want to cut up the car. Been thinking about cutting up the roll bar and refitting it, but it is chrome moly and powder coated.

You can use the black plastic stuff they put on the edge of the car doors to go around the cut for a finished look.

I have the same thing on my 2001. You'll need to cut the waterfall to accommodate that crossbar. Then you'll need to install the rollbar and the waterfall at the same time. Lift the rollbar off of the seat mounting stud, place the waterfall over the crossbar, position the waterfall over the tonneau latch, then lower the waterfall and the rollbar as a unit.

The first time it's a little tricky, especially until you're sure your cuts are in the right place. If you're planning to remove it when not on the track, I suggest you purchase a used waterfall from a recycler/junkyard. Then cut the used one and keep your original to install when you remove the rollbar. I picked one up from a forum member years ago for about $50, and swap it out 3-4 times a year when I go to the track.

Good luck.

I leave my waterfall off when I track my car. Usually go back to street a few days after it's tracked. As good as my Wolfe roll bar looks installed, it really limits the sport seat movement. The top of the seat rubs the roll bar if the seat is placed to far back. After you install and remove it a couple times, it can be less than a two hour job.

Megawatt and Craig-O, thanks for the tips. I think I will go the route of having two waterfalls. I kinda thought I might have to lower the roll bar and the waterfall together to get this to work.
Have either of you tried Corbeau A4 or Corbeau Evo X with your roll bars?
I am thinking about picking up a set of the Evo X but was concerned about clearance with the Wolfe craft roll bar.

Thanks again

Interested on how the Corbeau's fit. There is not a lot of information on Roll Bar fitting on the forum. If Wolfe could only make the side support bars about 1" wider at the top by the seat headrest the fit would be great with no seat restrictions except the rear bar that goes through the waterfall. I could live with that and probably run the roll bar full time. Please let me know if you have the same issue with your stock seats. If you go with Corbeau's, would appreciate a PM on the fitment.

I too, have the stock sport seats, and have the same problem as Megawatt - the seat needs to be positioned perfectly or the upper outside corners will rub on the bar. This makes the "Easy Entry" feature impractical, and I need to disable it when the rollbar is installed. It also limits the available legroom; fortunatley, the seat position works perfectly for me.

If you find a seat that doesn't rub on the installed rollbar, I'd be interested to hear. I've debated having a set of racing seats for the track (why not? in addition to the rolbar, I change wheels with r-comound tires, brake rotors and pads for the track) to get better lateral support; although 6-point harnesses do a pretty good job of holding me in the stock seats.

I disable the easy entry setting and then just memorize driver 2 seat settings so that the seat is far enough back to get in and out without hitting the roll bar.

Driver 1 = driving position.
Driver 2 = entry/exit position.

I went with a RPM roll bar, fits great, no cutting.

Looked at RPM's website and they don't show a rollbar for a C5 convertible. Did you install yours on a coupe, Z, or a Vert?

Has anyone found an after market race seat that doesn't hit the Wolfe craft roll bar?

Find a shop to build one custom for the car. It will cost more but it will be better in the long run.

I am not sure if it is a problem with all roll bars in convertibles but the top of the seat hitting the roll bar is a no-no. Your head should not be able to contact the main hoop in a car with a roll cage. That is a HUGE safety issue.

Glad it fits, gives me another option.

The seat hits the side of the roll bar. I tried spacers and even angling the seat. Top of the main hoop is fine. I have been through two inspections with no problem. A custom roll bar would have been the way to go though.
